Seth Berkley

Seth is a medical epidemiologist that trained at Brown University and Harvard University, he also the Founder, CEO and President of the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative. IAVI has been operating for over 10 years.

IAVI has been working to expedite the development of vaccines that will prevent HIV infection and AIDS.  IAVI actively aims for long term investment in finding a cure for HIV/AIDS but balances this with contemporary prevention methods that hope to reduce the number of AIDS/HIV sufferers and also helps those currently infected. IAVI is also working towards an access for all model for future vaccines.

IAVI understands this is a global process and by coordinating efforts with the public and private sectors has been able to maximize the effect of their work, especially in areas where the epidemic has had its greatest its impact; this has focused on education, improvement of medical infrastructure and communicating with communities.
