Violet Parr – Hero’s Journey
The Mundane World
Violet has to hide the fact she is has superpowers. She can turn herself invisible and also can create a force-field that nothing can penetrate. Violet is very shy and lets her hair hide her face. Along with her parents, she has two younger brothers.
The Call To Adventure
Violet’s mom is going on a trip because Mr. Incredible is not where he’s supposed to be and Mrs. Incredible wants to see if he’s in trouble. Violet is told to stay and watch her brothers.
Crossing The Threshold
Violet, along with her brother, Dashiell, sneaks on the plane that their mom is taking to find Mr. Incredible.
The Path of Trials
Violet’s first task after her mother finds her on the plane is to try to create a force-field large enough to cover the plane because of the oncoming attack. She isn’t able to because of how much pressure is laid upon her and the missiles hit the plane. They fall to the water and eventually make it to shore.
Violet slowly gains her confidence while in the jungle with her brother. She finds that she is pretty powerful and can do some amazing things. Another thing that blossoms with Violet is her relationship with her brother Dash.
One of her last trials is to help her family and Frozone beat the Omnibot. She first saves Dash from being flattened and also turns invisible to get the remote that controls the robot. Violet also saves her family.
Master of Two Worlds
Violet learns to be more confident in her abilities and herself. She clearly demonstrates this by asking the boy out at the end of the movie who she was too shy to even talk to in beginning. Violet also starts to dress in brighter colors, something that indicates her change in mood from dark to bright. She loves her family and isn’t annoyed by her brother anymore.
